Inspiring Healthy Living Through Recreation
Canyon Community Association
Community associations are incredibly diverse non-profit organizations that are the building blocks for making strong connections with your neighbours, advocating for healthy living and creating family fun events and facilities for all to enjoy. They are an economic engine that is fueled by the generosity and passion of their volunteers, grants and funding, donations and sponsors. A dynamic group of individuals, who believe that investing in each other strengthens the community, allows for strong roots and cultivates a healthy life style.
A hidden gem of the Creston Valley, nestled at the base of the Skimmerhorn Mountains, is where you discover the community of Canyon. A picturesque country setting that offers a vibrant lifestyle rooted in the abundance of nature. Canyon Community Association (CCA) has become a pillar to supporting its members and the Creston Valley at large providing opportunities of connection and a welcoming face to both tourists and newcomers. The CCA continues to own and maintain the community facilities of Canyon Park and Canyon Community Hall which has all been made possibly by their dedicated volunteers, fundraising and generous sponsors and donors.
Canyon Park is a peaceful all natural park that is surrounded by trees and has become a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and events. Featuring a new timber frame pavilion complete with commercial kitchen, playground, clean recently renovated bathrooms with coin operated showers, walking/fitness trail, the only public horse arena (in Creston Valley), ball diamond, 14 tenting/RV sites (max 18ft RV with no hookups) as well as a group camping area, dish washing station, all within a short 10 minute drive from the town of Creston. We are once again excited to be hosting our 80th Annual Canada Day fundraising family fun event at Canyon Park on July 1, 2019.
The Canyon Community Hall houses many events including a monthly flea market, seasonal coffee house showcasing local talent and is available for rent to host weddings/reunions/birthdays and many other events.
Our Association and facilities rely on the generosity of people just like you!
Did you know both Canyon Park and Canyon Community Hall are owned and operated by the non-profit Canyon Community Association? We continue to maintain and upgrade these facilities through volunteer resources, donors and sponsors. If you have enjoyed our facilities please take a moment to show your appreciation through a donation!

Canyon Community News
WE ARE CURRENTLY IN A CRISIS.
DO YOU CARE? WE NEED TO KNOW IF YOU CARE WHETHER CANYON HALL AND CANYON PARK REMAINS OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY.
The volunteer board of directors now stands at three members. The community needs to band together if these facilities are to remain open to the public. The board needs to know that they are supported by all users of the Park and Hall. The position of a director on the board consists of one monthly meeting. As the volunteer base has diminished to such a degree, we have consistently had to pay hired contractors to do the jobs that volunteers once did. This creates a need for more fundraising which creates a need for more volunteers. The Hall and the Park are at risk of being shut down.
