NO CAMPING this year at Canyon Park
Due to Covid and major spring storm damage, there will be NO CAMPING this year at the Canyon Park... With the exception of honouring previous bookings as long as the Provincial Government is allowing such events at that time.
The Canyon Park will be open to DAY USE only. There will be NO LEAGUE ball, or JULY 1st celebrations. Washrooms and showers will be closed with the exception of the pit toilets. The equine arena, ball diamond, playground and pavilion picnic area will be open to drop in DAY USE only, using at own risk and following social distancing guidelines. It is not possible for us to physically disinfect the park facilities regularly therefore we again remind everyone, it is USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Thank you for your understanding as we all try to navigate the challenges presented to us this year. Safety to our community, volunteers and our workers is of utmost importance. We hope to resume park clean up and workbees in the fall, assuming the situation has improved. We aim to come back in full force for the 2021 year.
Kind Regards, the Directors of the Canyon Community Association.
Hello friends and neighbours.
The CCA would like to inform you that in light of the current health situation the board has decided to fully refund payments received for rentals should your events need to be cancelled. Those who have paid via PayPal will unfortunately loose the small Pay Pal fee. We will also do our best to accommodate postponements or date changes. We have also decided to postpone our Spring Work Bees at the Canyon Park until such time as the need for social distancing has passed. We will continue to work with the best interests of the community and will update you as changes occur.
Take care of each other and we hope to be with you all again soon!
WE ARE CURRENTLY IN A CRISIS.
DO YOU CARE? WE NEED TO KNOW IF YOU CARE WHETHER CANYON HALL AND CANYON PARK REMAINS OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY.
The volunteer board of directors now stands at three members. The community needs to band together if these facilities are to remain open to the public. The board needs to know that they are supported by all users of the Park and Hall. The position of a director on the board consists of one monthly meeting. As the volunteer base has diminished to such a degree, we have consistently had to pay hired contractors to do the jobs that volunteers once did. This creates a need for more fundraising which creates a need for more volunteers. The Hall and the Park are at risk of being shut down.
ABUSE AND DISRESPECT COST US ALL.
The Canyon Hall parking lot is maintained by the CCA, a non-profit association currently run by FOUR volunteers. Burning Donuts, overnight parking and large vehicles using the lot contribute to expensive maintenance for us and disrespects our tireless volunteer efforts. Please pass the word and help your community.
